AI visibility

Customers are sending AI to your site before they arrive.

For thirty years a website had one audience: people. Now a growing share of what used to be a visit is answered inside Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Perplexity, before anyone reaches your site. Almost every website was built for the audience that is shrinking, and almost none for the one that is growing.

There is no page two of an AI answer.

58%

of consumers have replaced traditional search with AI for product and service recommendations.

Capgemini's measure, up from 25% in 2023. Forrester finds 94% of business buyers now use AI somewhere in how they buy, up from 89%.

60%

of searches now end without a click to any website.

The AI summary was the answer. Bain puts the organic traffic already lost at 15 to 25 per cent, on Google.

64%

of people who ask AI for a business recommendation trust it as much as reviews.

That is BrightLocal's measure. Gartner puts business buyers further along again: 67% now prefer to buy without talking to a rep at all, up from 61% a year earlier.

01The three jobs of a website in 2026

Three things your website has to do now.

Be recommended. Be readable. Be reachable when nobody is there. All three come down to the same thing: the experience a customer has of your business.

AI is recommending someone. It should be you.

Do AI assistants recommend you?

When someone asks AI which product or service they should use, your business is either in the reply or it is not. That comes down to whether your pages are shaped as answers to the questions buyers actually ask, and whether the same description of you appears everywhere AI looks. Most sites answer a question nobody asked, in language nobody searched.

Customer asks: "who should I use for [category] in [suburb]?"

None of the three tools got it right. Absent, wrong or partial, in the three rows below.

Claude Absent

Named three competitors, but not your business.

ChatGPT Wrong

Described a service you stopped offering in 2024.

Gemini Partial

Named your business, but had no idea what you offer.

Most websites hand AI a blank page.

Can AI read your website, and can it act on what it finds?

Most modern websites build themselves in your browser after the page arrives. The AI reading your site never waits for that. It is a visitor with no eyes, and no way to work anything out for itself. It takes what it is handed and moves on, which on a lot of sites is a blank page with your logo on it. This is the finding that surprises people most, and it is the cheapest one to fix.

Reading is only half the job. Can a machine find your prices, your opening hours and what you actually sell, then act on what it finds and fill out a form on a customer's behalf? That is the next thing buyers will expect, and it is development work rather than marketing work. Below, two visits to a typical small-business site, made the way AI makes them: what it could read, and what it could not.

GET / · JavaScript disabled
× Your words are not in the page itself. They're added afterwards by a script, which an AI reading the page never runs. It receives <div id="root"></div> and nothing else.
Your contact details would have been found. Where a page's real words sit in the HTML rather than behind a script, this same crawl reads them straight off it.
POST /contact · enquiry on a customer's behalf
× The enquiry form can't be used by AI. A CAPTCHA blocks it with no way through, and the form has no action an agent can call without running the page's JavaScript.
The phone number and address are still findable. Contact details written on the page reach an agent even when the form behind them does not.

Answer customers when nobody is there.

Your website can stop being a brochure and become a front desk: a live AI voice agent that greets customers, answers questions out loud, and hands over to a human the moment that matters more.

03What it costs

What it costs to fix what the audit finds.

No bands, no tiers, one number per engagement. The AI Readiness Sprint fixes what the audit found, on the site you already have, and Managed AI Presence keeps it that way. If the audit says the site is not worth fixing, the rebuild is priced on Software development.

04Common questions

What people ask before they get in touch.

Is this for a business like mine?
Yes. If your business has a website, it has this problem: the people you want are asking AI about your category before they ever land on your site, and most sites cannot be read properly by the thing answering them.
What if I already have a website?
The AI Readiness Sprint works on the site you already have: structured data, content reshaped around the questions buyers ask, and the changes that let a machine actually use it. A rebuild is only worth it when the site is fighting you for other reasons too, and I would tell you that before quoting one.
What if the audit says I am fine?
Then I tell you that, and there is nothing to sell you. The audit is free and there is no paid version of it, so it costs me nothing to give you good news. That is rather the point of leading with it.
How is this different from an SEO agency?
It is mostly a different job rather than a competing one. An agency does the marketing; I do the development that marketing now depends on. Being found by an answer engine and being usable by an agent come down to how the site is built: what a machine gets handed, whether it can find your prices, whether it can complete your forms. If you already have people doing your marketing, this sits underneath and complements their work.
What counts as a custom app or AI system?
The application your business needs but cannot buy off the shelf, and the systems that learn from what your customers say about it. The labs on this site are the live version of that work, six working systems you can open and use: answers drawn from real feedback with the sources shown, an agent that notices which customers are drifting, and testing that catches what a support AI gets wrong before customers do. Every build starts with the $3,500 discovery sprint, and I quote the build itself on scope once that is done.
Why is Managed AI Presence a monthly service?
Because the thing it manages does not hold still. The AI models keep changing, and how you are described and cited shifts with them, whether anyone is watching or not. The retainer is a monthly brief on how you come up, monitoring of your citations and descriptions, and upkeep of the structured data and conversational layer as things move. One tier, $750 a month, three-month minimum.
Where do I start?
With the free audit, almost always. It tells both of us where you stand and what is actually worth doing. From there it splits in two. If you are keeping the site you have, the AI Readiness Sprint fixes what the audit found and it ends there. If you are building something new, a site or an application, it starts with the $3,500 discovery sprint, which is where the scope and the fixed quote come from. Nothing obliges you to the next step.
